Territory

I’m sitting in my room
Books and papers strewn around
Music’s playing, I turn it up
One of my favourite sounds.

I drink some water, go and pee
Amble back to the same spot
My long baggy t-shirt, my tiny shorts
In here I don’t feel too hot.

Cat wanders in, she purrs at me
I rub her on her head
To my delight, she doesn’t leave
But settles down on my bed.

Yoga mat stands in the corner
Tons of books for me to read
I’ve got my phone and a laptop
What more could I need?

Parents sitting right outside
If I need them I’ll just shout
My phone to contact the rest of the world
It’s my ideal territory, no doubt.
